Frazier Named Pac-12 Freshman-Newcomer Of The Week
Freshman Earns Third Weekly Award This Season
BEREKELY- Freshman
eMjae Frazier of the No. 7 California women's gymnastics team has been named Pac-12 Freshman/Newcomer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
A viral sensation, Frazier earned the title for the second time in three weeks after posting the first perfect 10 on floor in program history last Friday at the Purple and Gold Classic. She is just the second Cal freshman to ever record a 10 and the first to do so since Toni-Ann Williams in 2015.
Her routine was remarkable, executing each pass and every skill without error. The footage has over one million views on social media after being picked up by ESPN, ESPNW, Sports Center, Bleacher Report and more.
Frazier finished second in the all-around race with a score of 39.525 and helped lead the Golden Bears to another strong team score of 197.675. They placed second in the meet behind No. 6 LSU while topping No. 24 Washington and George Washington.
This the third weekly award of the freshman's young career, including her Pac-12 Specialist of the Week honor from Jan. 31.
