SAN LUIS OBISPO – The No. 9 California beach volleyball team (15-5) started the Mustang Invitational with a pair of 4-1 wins over UC Davis and No. 13 Washington Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears opened up the weekend with a pair of lower court wins over the Aggies from UC Davis. Lexi McKeown and Natalie Martin got off the courts first with a 21-12, 21-12 win on court four and Brooke Buchner and Alex Young-Gomez made it a 2-0 contest with a 21-11, 21-9 win on five. It was Buchner's 50^th career win as she moved into ninth on the program's all-time wins list.
 
Sierra Caffo and Gia Fisher sealed the deal with their first win as a pair taking a 21-13, 21-18 win on court two.

Another Bear met a huge milestone in the team's second match of the day as Ainsley Radell and Ashley Delgado picked up a 21-18, 21-11 on court two. It was the 70^th win of Radell's career which ranks second in school history.
 
Buchner and Young-Gomez put the Bears up 2-0 with a 21-15, 21-15 win on five and McKeown and Martin sealed the match on court four with a 21-15, 20-22, 15-12 win. Caffo and Fisher had an impressive court one win topping the Huskies' top team 21-16, 16-21, 17-15 to close out the afternoon.
