LUCERNE, Switzerland – The third and final installment of the World Rowing Cup series will feature seven current and former California men's rowing Golden Bears and take place this weekend at Rotsee Lake. Over 700 of the top rowers from 52 countries will be competing. The annual three-part regatta is considered a final tuneup to the World Rowing Championships, which this year will be the first opportunity for nations to qualify their boats for the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Angus Dawson (Australian eight),
Ollie Maclean (New Zealand four) and
Tim Roth (Switzerland single sculls) and former Cal rowers Jack Cleary ('18, Australian double sculls), Olav Molenaar ('22, Dutch eight), Jack Robertson ('21, Australian eight) and Nicolas Van Sprang ('16, Netherlands four) will represent the Blue & Gold.

A number of Bears competed in the World Rowing Cup II at Lake Varese, Italy, in June. Robertson took home a silver medal for the Australian eight and Dawson earned a bronze as part of the Australian pair. Other Cal rowers included current Bears
Gennaro di Mauro (Italian eight) and Roth (Swiss four) who finished fourth and seventh, respectively, along with former Bears Cleary (Australian double) and Wibout Rustenburg ('21, Dutch single), who finished fourth and 10th in their respective races.
