BERKELEY – A pair of incoming freshmen on the California men's rowing team will compete in this week's U19 World Rowing Championships that are set to take place in Paris Thursday through Sunday. The regatta – which will welcome more than 615 athletes representing 53 countries across 14 boat classes – was originally set to begin Wednesday, but was postponed a day due to adverse weather conditions.
 
Live streaming will be available on Saturday and Sunday on www.worldrowing.com.

Jack Skinner, who hails from Winnetka, Illinois, will race for the United States in the men's eight. This will mark Skinner's second appearance at the U19 World Championships as he competed in the men's four at last year's event and finished 10th overall. He recently finished fifth in the eight at the 2023 USRowing Youth National Championships.
 
Racing for his native Italy, Giorgio Cecchini will compete in the men's four. This will mark Cecchini's first appearance at the U19 World Championships. Worldrowing.com included his crew as a team to watch in the men's four.
