Serbian Guard Joins Cal’s 2023 Signing Class

BERKELEY – California men's basketball head coach Mark Madsen announced Wednesday that Serbian native Vladimir Pavlovic has signed to play for the Golden Bears in the upcoming 2023-24 season.

Pavlovic, a 6-foot-3 guard, joins a group of Cal scholarship newcomers that includes fellow freshmen Rodney Brown Jr. and Devin Curtis as well as transfers Fardaws Aimaq, Jalen Cone, Keonte Kennedy and Jaylon Tyson. Pavlovic played last season at the Hoosac School (Hoosick, New York), a member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council.

"Vladimir's talent, character and basketball IQ make him a great addition to our roster," Madsen said. "His size and athleticism are key advantages at the guard positions and he plays the game with a high motor that'll make his teammates better. Our staff identified Vlad as someone who can provide an immediate boost to our team and we're thrilled to have him as a Golden Bear."

Pavlovic has previously played for the 18U Serbian national team, averaging 5.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 16 games across five tournaments played between 2019-22.
