Bears In Action At Preserve Golf Club Collegiate
Second-Round Play Halted Due To Darkness; Will Resume Tuesday Morning
CARMEL â The California men's golf team rebounded from a tough start in the first round of the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate before play was halted due to darkness during the final holes of round two on Monday.

Cal (+6) found itself in a tie for 11th place after an opening-round 299, but climbed into sole possession of eighth place by the end of the day with four Golden Bears â five including individual
Sihao Cong â shooting under par in the incomplete second round. The Bears will resume second-round play Tuesday with 2-8 holes remaining, having collectively shot 5-under-par in the round.

Kuangyu (Tony) Chen â the reigning tournament individual medalist â carded a team-best even-par 72 in the first round, fueled by three birdies on the front nine, and sits at 1-under-par through 11 holes in the second round. He's the lone Bear inside the top 20 individually, currently tied for 17th.

San Diego State (-18) leads the field with UCLA (-10), Oregon (-5), Long Beach State (-4) and Colorado State (-3) rounding out the top five at the current point in the incomplete second round.

UP NEXT
Round two of the Preserve Golf Club Collegiate will resume at 8:30 a.m. PT, followed by the third and final round. Pairings will remain the same with Cal playing alongside Cal Poly, Long Beach State and Utah.
