California men's gymnastics returns to Haas Pavilion on Sunday for its fourth straight week of competition, matching up with William & Mary in a virtual contest that will feature both teams broadcasting from their home gyms. The meet, which is scheduled to start at noon PT, will be open to the public.

The Golden Bears plan to test their squad's depth and rest some of their top gymnasts, giving way for some of the younger athletes to make a bigger contribution to Cal's point total. One gymnast who will appear in fewer lineups is senior Noah Newfeld, who will be competing in next week's USA Gymnastics Winter Cup for the opportunity to make the Senior National Team.

Last Saturday, Cal crossed the 400-point margin for the first time this season with a score of 400.800. The NCAA's No. 5 parallel bars squad put on another strong performance, including a winning (and personal-best) score of 14.500 from senior Noah Sano, who ranks seventh nationally in the event and rose to No. 3 on Cal's modern program top-10 list. The Bears recorded three other such marks – both Newfeld (14.250) and senior Aidan Li (14.300) posted the fourth- and third-best scores, respectively, on the program's pommel horse list, while junior Jasper Smith-Gordon earned a 14.700 on vault for the second straight week for another entry at No. 3.

William & Mary has a strong vault squad led by senior Sam Lee, who has matched Smith-Gordon's season-high of 14.700 and has recorded three podium finishes on the event. He is also the Tribe's top scorer on parallel bars, on which he has recorded three additional top-three finishes. The team also boasts solid competitors in sophomore Ricky Pizem, who was named Co-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Specialist of the Week after winning the high bar title at Springfield College last weekend, and freshman Gavin Zborowski, who has competed in the all-around twice this season and bears the team's highest impact difference ranking on three events.
