Stadden Named Pac-12 Swimmer Of The Week

Senior Set Pool Records In Both Backstroke Events At Spieker Aquatics Complex

California senior Isabelle Stadden has been named the Pac-12 Women's Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Stadden shattered her own pool records in both the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke during the No. 7 Golden Bears' victory over No. 5 Stanford on Saturday at Spieker Aquatics Complex. She won the 100 back with a Spieker-best time of 50.29, which was also just three-hundredths of a second off her career-best mark of 50.26 - which is the third-fastest time in the event in the nation this season. Her time of 1:49.64 in the 200 back surpassed the previous pool record she set last month against Arizona State by almost a full second.

Stadden picked up another win against the Cardinal as part of the Bears' 200 medley relay team.

This marks Stadden's second career Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week honor. She's also been named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month twice during her career.

The Bears closed out the regular season against the Cardinal and are now preparing for the 2024 Pac-12 Championships to be held Feb. 28-March 2 in Federal Way, Washington.
