STANFORD – No. 2 California men's swimming & diving team wrapped up its regular season on Saturday falling to rival No. 6 Stanford 170-130 at the Avery Aquatics Complex. The Golden Bears were led by senior Bjorn Seeliger who won both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle and Destin Lacsco who won the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley.
 
Cal coasted in the final dual meet of the season, with many of its regulars not competing in their events. Seeliger won both sprint-free events. Destin Lasco, Colby Mefford, and Gabriel Jett also captured individual wins.
 
Lasco got the first win of the day for the Bears. Winning the 100 backstroke with a time of 45.26. Kai Crews came in third for Cal in the same event with a time of 46.75. He also won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:41.28.
 
Seeliger coasted to wins in the 50 and 100 with a time of 18.88 and 41.83. Jack Alexy took fifth in the 50 with a time of 19.83, he did not compete in the 100.
 
Cal took first and second in the 200 backstroke. Colby Mefford finished first with a time of 1:41.97. Keaton Jones finished just off the pace with a time of 1:42.11. Jett comfortably won the 500 free, he finished with a time of 4:10.43.
 
In the final event of the day, Cal's A lineup won the 400-yard free relay with a time of 2:47.93, the quartet of Alexy, Seeliger, Liam Bell, and Jett finished a half second ahead of Stanford's A lineup. In the 200 medley relay, Cal's A lineup of Seeliger, Bell, Dare Rose, and Alexy finished second with a time of 1:23.38 – just three hundredths behind Stanford's A lineup.
 
In the diving competitions, Joshua Thai took second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dive.
 
The Bears have wrapped up their regular season. Championship season begins Wednesday, Feb. 28 when the divers travel to Federal Way, Wash. to participate in the Pac-12 Diving Championships.
