Thai Takes Third In Platform

Sophomore Sets Program Record In Platform In Prelims

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The California diving team wrapped up the Pac-12 Diving Championships on Friday with three Golden Bears advancing to the finals of the platform championship.
 
Sophomore Joshua Thai made a clean sweep of three straight finals appearances this week. He finished on the podium in the platform dive finishing third overall with a score of 351.00. In the prelims, he was historically good. He finished second overall with a score of 387.55 a program record, besting the previous score of 371.70 set by Finn Scribbik in 2015.
 
Conrad Eck and Jack Clark also advanced to the finals. Eck finished fifth overall with a final score of 303.10. In the prelims, he finished fourth with a personal-best score of 325.25 – the fifth-best score in program history.
 
Clark wrapped up his strong debut at the Pac-12 Championships with an eighth-place finish, scoring 284.05. In the finals, he finished seventh with a personal-best score of 291.50 – the eighth-best score in program history.
 
Cal's swimmers will head north to Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center on Wednesday for the Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships.
