BERKELEY - California men's gymnastics will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon, traveling down to The Farm for the third time this year to meet No. 2 Stanford and No. 1 Oklahoma at 4 p.m. PT.

Prior to this weekend's contest, the 2024 Golden Bears have met the Cardinal four times and the Sooners once. Cal last saw Stanford at Haas Pavilion on March 3, where the visitors posted a team score of 410.850. Oklahoma and Cal last met in Norman, Oklahoma, on Feb. 10, where the home squad earned a score of 417.800 and the Bears recorded a season-high 400.800.

Four Cal gymnasts have earned MPSF weekly awards this season. Freshman Carter Kim kicked off the year with a Freshman of the Week nod (Jan. 16), which was later earned by Brendan Strom (Feb. 13) and Jaxon Mitchell (Feb. 20). Sophomore Theodor Roald Gadderud picked up his first Gymnast of the Week honor on March 5 after leading the Bears on both parallel bars (14.000) and still rings (13.600) on Cal's Senior Day.

The Sooners are the nation's top team on floor, pommel horse, vault and horizontal bar. They are led by sophomore Fuzzy Benas, the country's top all-arounder (avg. 82.317) and No. 2 man on parallel bars (14.333), as well as junior Emre Dodanli, who ranks No. 1 on floor and No. 4 on high bar with respective averages of 14.900 and 14.117. Oklahoma also boasts two-time MPSF Freshman of the Week Nico Hamilton, who ranks No 5 nationally on floor with an average score of 14.083, and reigning MPSF Specialist of the Week Ignacio Yockers, who has recorded two 15-plus pommel horse scores this season.

The Cardinal fields the nation's best lineups on rings and parallel bars; as a whole, the team is coming off a season-high 416.350 last week at Air Force. Stanford junior Taylor Burkhart is the country's No. 2 all-arounder (avg. 80.450) and No. 5 vaulter, while teammates Brandon Nguyen (all-around, 79.933), Asher Hong (rings, 14.550) and Mark Berlaga (rings, 14.350) average among the country's top-five gymnasts in their respective events. Reigning MPSF Gymnast of the Week Khoi Young has also been a force for the Cardinal throughout his entire collegiate career, adding to his résumé by notching two event crowns (vault and parallel bars) during the Air Force meet.
