SALT LAKE CITY – Utah shot 50.8% from the floor, knocked down 12 3-pointers and led the entire way in a wire-to-wire 88-59 win over the California men's basketball on Saturday night at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

The Golden Bears (13-17, 9-10 Pac-12) were dealt their most-lopsided defeat of the season with the 29-point margin, and shot just 34.4% overall, their lowest mark in Pac-12 play.
Jalen Cone scored 19 points with four 3-pointers while
Fardaws Aimaq tallied 15 points, five rebounds and four steals.
Jaylon Tyson was held to single-digit points (7) for just the second time this season.

Utah out-rebounded Cal 47-29 and pulled down 13 offensive rebounds, leading to 15 second-chance points.

"We're going to bounce back from this, definitely bounce back from this, I have no doubt about that," Cal head coach
Mark Madsen said. "This was not our best game, but we're going to flush this and have a great week of practice and be ready to go."

Branden Carlson led Utah (18-11, 9-9) with 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting and 10 rebounds. Deivon Smith had 18 points and 10 assists, and Gabe Madsen added 17 points with four 3-pointers. The Runnin' Utes improved to 14-2 at home this season and Cal dropped to 3-7 in road games.

The Bears played the final 25 minutes of the game without starting guard
Keonte Kennedy, who was ejected for a flagrant foul with 5:12 left in the first half.

Cal closes the regular season at Stanford next Thursday in a nationally televised contest on ESPN2. Tipoff at Maples Pavilion is at 8 p.m. PST.
