ATHENS, Ga. – The California women's swimming & diving team had four individuals score points in the B-finals on Thursday during the second day of the 2024 NCAA Championships at Gabrielsen Natatorium on the campus of the University of Georgia.

Graduate student Eloise Riley scored points in an NCAA individual event for the first time in her career, reaching the consolation final with a personal-best time during morning prelims of 21.93, which is also the eighth-fastest time ever in the event at Cal. She placed 16th overall after going 22.03 in the B-final.

Graduate students Rachel Klinker and Mia Motekaitis each earned berths in the consolation final of the 500-yard freestyle, with Klinker placing 12th in a time of 4:37.91 and Motekaitis finishing 14th with a mark of 4:38.63. It marked the second time each has scored points in the event at the NCAA Championships.

Junior Leah Polonsky contributed points in the 200 individual medley for the third time in her career with a 15th-place finish at 1:55.27.

After two days of the 2024 NCAA Championships, the Golden Bears sit in 12th place with 59 points.

Cal is in line for a big day Friday, with 14 individuals racing across five events. The Bears will also compete in the 400 medley relay, where they are the No. 6 seed. Senior Isabelle Stadden, who has finished in the top-10 in the 100 backstroke every year of her career, is the No. 2 seed this season and will go for a national championship on Friday. The Bears have three other top-10 seeds on the schedule.
