Akinduro Notches Cal’s Third All-America Honor

Senior Earns Second-Team Status At NCAA Indoor Championships

BOSTON – California track & field senior Busola Akinduro joined Rowan Hamilton and David Foster as Second-Team All-Americans on Saturday, placing 14th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.89m (42-3.5) at the NCAA Indoor Championships to officially close out the Golden Bears' indoor season.
 
This is the first All-America nod for Akinduro, who also appeared at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships. She qualified for the 2024 indoor championships after recording a mark of 13.25m (43-5.75) at the Don Kirby Invitational, rising to third best in program history and fifteenth in the nation this year.
 
Akinduro will now turn her attention to the outdoor season, competing in both the long and triple jumps. Her outdoor triple jump PR of 13.18m (43-3) ranks eighth on Cal's top-10 list.
 
UP NEXT
Cal will continue its outdoor season next weekend at the Hornet Invitational in Sacramento, which is scheduled for March 15-16.
