11 Bears Named MPSF All-Academic

Cal Leads Conference In Honors

A conference-leading 11 members of the California men's gymnastics team have earned MPSF All-Academic status for the 2024 season, as announced on Thursday. This is the third consecutive season that the Golden Bears have posted double-digit honors.

Each gymnast on the All-Academic list is required to be at least an academic sophomore while recording a GPA of 3.0 or above and participating in at least 50 percent of their team's regular-season competitions.

Seniors Yu-Chen Lee and Noah Sano now lead Cal's roster in career MPSF All-Academic honors with four apiece, while fourth-years Aidan Li, Noah Newfeld, Chris Scales and Jelani Sweet each earned his third consecutive nod. Athletic sophomore Theodor Roald Gadderud, as well as juniors Tyler Shimizu and Jasper Smith-Gordon, picked up their second consecutive appearances on the list; classmate Landon Wu earned his first career All-Academic recognition, as did sophomore Khalen Curry

"I'm really proud of all that these guys have accomplished this year," head coach JT Okada said. "They've put in a lot of hard work and it's great to see it paying off."
