BEARS IN THE POSTSEASON
Cal made its 12th straight - and 28th overall – NCAA Regional appearance this season, and qualified for the seventh NCAA Championships in program history. Cal entered the postseason as the No. 3 team in the country and has spent a good chunk of the year in the No. 2 slot. The Bears won their first outright regular-season Pac-12 Conference championship in program history this season as well.

NATIONALS HISTORY
Six of Cal's seven NCAA Championships appearances have come during the Howell/Crandall-Howell era ('16, '18, '19, '21, '23). This is just the second time the Bears have reached nationals in back-to-back seasons, and they are looking for their first Four on the Floor appearance. The team's highest finish of 7th has been achieved three times ('16, '21, '23).

REGIONAL RECAP
Cal won its second straight regional two weeks ago competing in its own arena - Haas Pavilion. The Bears advanced to the final finishing first with a 197.800 in the April 5 semis and followed with their highest postseason score in school history April 7 with a 198.275. Mya Lauzon secured the team's first postseason 10 with a perfect vault and became the first Bear to win the all-around title at a regional with a 39.750.

BEARS EARN MULTIPLE REGION AWARDS
Cal took home a handful of major WCGA Region Awards in early April. eMjae Frazier was named WCGA West Region Gymnast of the Year, Justin Howell and Liz Crandall-Howell were named Head Coaches of the Year, and John Carney earned Assistant Coach of the Year. Frazier ended the regular season as the No. 3 all-arounder and was the first Bear to win the award since Kyana George in 2021. Howell and Crandall-Howell are the reigning WCGA National Co-Head Coaches of the Year and Carney is the reigning National Assistant Coach of the Year.
