No. 4 Cal Set For IRA National Championships
Bears Chase Third Straight National Title
BERKELEY – The No. 4 California men's rowing team officially earned a spot in the Intercollegiate Racing Association (IRA) National Championships, the IRA announced Tuesday morning. A total of 24 schools will compete for a national title. The Golden Bears received automatic entry into the field with their second-place finish at Sunday's Pac-12 Championships.
The Bears are looking for a three-peat as national champions for the first time since 1999-02 when they won four straight titles.
The annual regatta will be held May 31-June 2 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey. Cal's top three varsity eight boats as well as its varsity four are scheduled to compete.
All races will be streamed on the IRA YouTube page, and the link will be posted prior to the event.
A complete preview will be posted in the days leading up to the regatta.
