FORT WORTH, Texas – California men's gymnastics alumnus Noah Newfeld took to the floor once more at the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships on Saturday night, hoping to improve his standing in the field of the nation's most elite gymnasts competing at Dickies Arena in the second of two sessions; in the end, he finished with a two-day total of 106.750, the second-highest total of all non-all-arounders.

Newfeld's night began on parallel bars, where he posted a score of 13.450 (two-day total: 27.100, 19th place). He then improved his floor score from Thursday to 13.500 (26.750 – 18th place), after which he closed out the evening with a 12.850 (26.000 – 16th place) on pommel horse and a 13.350 (26.900 – 16th place) on rings.

The native of Plano, Texas, is one of the most storied Cal gymnasts in the current scoring era, appearing no fewer than six times in the program's list of top-10 scores and contributing to 26 additional team top-10 scores, including program records on pommel horse, rings and parallel bars. He also earned Cal's first College Gymnastics Association (CGA) Rookie of the Year honor in 2021 following a standout freshman season.
