GATINEAU, Quebec – Senior Aidan Li, who will be returning for his final year of eligibility with California men's gymnastics in 2024-25, added yet another accolade to his career on Saturday evening at the Canadian Gymnastics Championships, hosted this year at Centre Slush Puppie in Gatineau, Quebec. The native of Ottawa, Ontario, who owns seven of the top-10 pommel horse scores in modern program history, needed a top-notch performance in Session 2 of the Senior Men's competition after only recording a 12.833 two days prior; true to form, he showed up when it counted most, posting the night's top score of 14.300 for a two-day total of 27.133 and his first gold medal.

Li closed out his 2024 collegiate season with an All-American nod at the NCAA Championships in April, tying for seventh place on pommel horse with a score of 14.266 in the final after setting a new program record of 14.800 in the preliminary round. A week-and-a-half prior, he earned his first-career All-MPSF honors after posting a third-place 14.700 in the event at the MPSF Championships. Throughout the 2024 season alone, Li anchored five of the top-10 pommel horse lineups in modern program history, including one that posted a school-record 69.000 composite score in early April.

Alumnus Darren Wong joined Li in competing in Session I of the Canadian Championships, eventually withdrawing due to a finger injury. He completed five of six routines, topped by a 13.300 on high bar that tied for seventh in the first-day standings; his other scores included a 13.050 on floor, 11.200 on pommel horse, 12.166 on rings and a 12.900 on vault.
