Cal Earns GCAA Team Academic Award

Golden Bears Awarded Presidents Special Recognition

BERKELEY – The California men's golf team's impressive year in the classroom culminated in the Golden Bears receiving the 2023-24 Outstanding Team Academic Award from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday. Cal was awarded the Presidents Special Recognition – the GCAA's highest academic honor – for maintaining a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.5 or better throughout the 2023-24 academic year.

It's the 15th time in the past 16 years that the Bears have earned the GCAA team honor.

Rising redshirt senior Kuangyu (Tony) Chen and former Bears Nathan Wang and Sampson Zheng were named GCAA All-America Scholars last week.
