Men’s Rowing Releases 2025 Schedule
Team Set For Inaugural Season In MPSF
BERKELEY – The schedule for the California Golden Bears men's rowing team's inaugural season in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) was released Tuesday and is set to kick off the first weekend of March. The team splits off to compete in the California Challenge in Newport Beach on March 1 and the Redwood Shores Invitational at Redwood Shores from March 1-2, when it will welcome crews from Drexel, Oregon State, San Diego, Santa Clara, Stanford and UC San Diego.
The team will have a lengthy break before its next competition at the San Diego Crew Classic in Marina Park from March 29-30 – an event that the V8+, 2V8+ and freshmen V8+ swept last year.
The squad will return to Redwood Shores from April 4-5 to host the Redwood Shores Classic, which will bring in crews from LaSalle, Oregon State, Santa Clara, Stanford, Wisconsin and UCSD.
Next up, Cal along with Stanford will stay at Redwood Shores to host Brown, California Rowing Club, Syracuse and Yale at the Cal/Stanford Invitational slated for April 12-13.
The Bears will then prepare for the 113th annual Washington dual, a rivalry dating back to 1903, in which they will look to take back the Schoch Cup on April 26 at the Montlake Cut in Seattle.
In its last regular-season race of the schedule, Cal will race in a dual against crossbay rival Stanford at Redwood Shores on May 3. The Bears have won the last 10 matchups with the Cardinal and swept last year's dual.
Cal will then take a week off before getting set to compete in its first MPSF Championships from May 17-18 at Lake Natoma in Gold River.
Finally, the Bears will head to the IRA National Championships at the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, from May 30-June 1. Cal will look to improve upon its third-place finish at last year's championships.
