Cal men's basketball has a solid contingent of Golden Bears heading to Charlotte, North Carolina, next week for participation in the 2025-26 ACC Tipoff event. Head coach Mark Madsen will have three players – Dai Dai Ames, DJ Campbell and Rytis Petraitis – alongside him to represent the Bears in press conferences, ACC Network and ACCNX coverage, and other media opportunities taking place Wednesday.

All four will take part in a press conference starting at 5:15 a.m. PT on Wednesday on ACCNX. At 6 a.m. PT, Madsen will be live on set with the ACC Network, with Cal players going on at 6:45 a.m. PT

Campbell and Petraitis are both returners to the Cal roster, with Ames set for his debut as a Bear in 2025-26. This will be the first ACC Tipoff experience for all three Bears.

An Arlington, Texas, product with experience on the Lithuanian National Team, Petraitis is a 6-7 senior forward who played in all 33 games last season. With 13 double-digit outings and three double-doubles as a junior, he averaged 8.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and a team-high 1.3 steals per game. Petraitis' collegiate career began at Air Force as a freshman before coming to Berkeley as a sophomore transfer in 2023.

A 6-2 senior guard, Campbell started 16 games last season at Cal and recorded 11 double-digit scoring outings. Across all games with the Bears, he averaged 7.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steal per game. The Hampton, Virginia, native played two seasons at Western Carolina before joining the Bears as a junior last year.

One of nine newcomers to Madsen's 2025-26 roster, Ames joins the Bears as a 6-2 junior guard. He was a starter at Virginia as a sophomore, averaging 8.7 points, 1.9 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game while hitting double digits in 14 games. As a freshman, the Chicago native was a starter at Kansas State in 2023-24.

Madsen is in his third season at the helm of the Bears' program. A two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers and a native of the East Bay, Madsen is the 19th head coach in history. He leads a 2025-26 roster into a second season in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Bears posted a 10-win improvement from the prior season during Madsen's first year at Cal and earned a first-round victory in its first-ever ACC Tournament.
