Bears Head To Bill Dellinger Invitational
Cal Makes Third Straight Appearance At The Event
California cross country is set for its third meet of the season at the Bill Dellinger Invitational hosted by Oregon on Friday. The Golden Bears will travel to the Pine Ridge Golf Club in Springfield, Oregon, with the men lining up at 11:15 a.m. PT, followed by the women's race at noon PT.
This will be the Bears' third consecutive year competing in the event, which features a racecourse made entirely of grass and situated mostly on fairways. The men will compete against No. 23 Air Force, Central Washington, No. 14 Oregon, Saint Mary's, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UCLA and Weber State. The women will face Air Force, Central Washington, No. 4 Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UCLA and Weber State.
Cal is coming off the Kim Duyst Invitational at Stanislaus State, where the men took second place and the women finished sixth. Junior Justin Pretre won his second consecutive individual title, finishing with a personal best of 23:14.3. On the women's side, Sophie Tau came in second place, crossing the line with a personal best of 20:34.1.
