Passola Folch Earns All-America Distinction At NCAAs

ORLANDO, Fla. – California women's tennis senior Berta Passola Folch – competing in an individual postseason championship for the first year – won in the NCAA Singles Championship round of 32 on Wednesday to claim the first All-America honor of her career.

The Spain native – who is ranked 113th – defeated Texas A&M's 22nd-ranked Mia Kupres 6-3, 6-2 in the round of 32 at the USTA National Campus. By reaching the round of 16, Passola Folch became the first Cal student-athlete in any sport to earn All-America status in the 2025-26 year. She next faces NC State's 78th-ranked Gabriella Broadfoot on Thursday at a time to be announced.

Mao Mushika and Greta Greco Lucchina had a strong start to their opening round of 32 match in the NCAA Doubles Championship on Wednesday. The Cal tandem – playing Vanderbilt's fourth-seeded and 12th-ranked Celia-Belle Mohr and Sophia Webster – won the first set 6-4. But the Commodores rebounded and the Bears ultimately fell 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(5).
