ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – The California women's tennis team wrapped up a successful campaign in the Dennis Rizza Intercollegiate Classic on Sunday at the Jack Kramer Club, where four Golden Bears competed in singles and doubles against players from Boise State, Loyola Marymount and UC Santa Barbara. Cal posted an 8-4 singles record and a perfect 6-0 doubles mark over the three-day event.

Anya Murthy was 1-2 in singles and 3-0 in doubles, and freshman
Mille Johanna Moerk posted records of 2-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.
Â
"I was impressed by the Bears' eagerness and willingness to learn and apply new things," Cal interim head coach
Kris Kwinta said. "I was impressed with how well they can play when they put their head and minds into it. I was impressed by them coming together as a team, building good team chemistry and fun team chemistry on the road. The cool thing is they played better every day, especially in doubles. They had an aggressive approach on the court. Can we play better? Of course, but playing smarter was the main goal, and we did that."

Starting Thursday, Cal junior
