No. 6 Cal Selected To Tuscaloosa Regional
Bears Set For 12th Straight Postseason Appearance
BERKELEY – The California women's gymnastics team has earned the No. 6 seed in the 2025 NCAA Championships and will be heading to the Tuscaloosa Regional hosted by the University of Alabama on April 4 and 6.
The Golden Bears' 12
th straight postseason selection begins in the first session on April 6 as Cal will take on No. 11 Alabama, North Carolina, and Iowa at 11 a.m. PT. The top two teams of the quad meet will advance to Sunday's regional final, slated for 3 p.m. PT. The two highest finishers of the final will punch their ticket to the championship round in Fort Worth, Texas.
The other side of the bracket features No. 3 Florida, No. 14 Oregon State, NC State, and the play-in between Clemson and Rutgers. The regional features four of the five ACC teams to make the postseason.
Cal has won back-to-back regional championships, including the 2023 Pittsburgh Regional which also featured the Gators as the top-seeded team of the field. Last year the Bears won both sessions of the Berkeley Regional, had four regional event champions, and went on to have their highest finish in program history as the 2024 NCAA Championship runners-up.
