Liu, Molloy Continue To Lead Bears
Cal’s Juniors End Round 2 In The Top 20
PHOENIX, Ariz. – The California women's golf team closed out day two of the PING/ASU Invitational on Saturday in eighth place with two Golden Bears in the top 20 individually.
Following an even-par 288 as a team on Friday, Cal shot 10-over 298 in round two, led by juniors Anna Molloy (70+74 | 144) and Adora Liu (71+74 | 145).
Molloy posted the Bears' low score for the second straight round with a 2-over 74 and ended the day in 13th place. Liu matched Molloy's score and tied her with three birdies, finishing in 17th place. They head into Sunday's final round as the only Bears currently sitting in the top 30.
Senior Jieming Yang (74+75 | 149) carded a 3-over 75. She's tied with both Constance Fouillet (73+76 | 149) and Claudia Lara Miravitlles (75+74 | 149) – who is competing as an individual – for 43rd place. Senior Kaylyn Noh shot a 3-over 75.
Cal is currently four strokes shy of a top-five placing. The Bears will close out the tournament tomorrow morning at Papago Golf Club.
