STANFORD – The California men's gymnastics team traveled down to The Farm on Saturday afternoon to meet up with Stanford once again, sharing the floor with not only the Cardinal but also squads from Team USA, Switzerland and Finland as well as a selection of International All-Stars. Of the two collegiate teams competing, it was Stanford who came out with the higher score, 325.100-313.300, but the Golden Bears nevertheless came away with plenty to celebrate as they posted improvements on four of six events to finish with their best team total of the season.

After starting off the night on high bar, where sophomore Carter Kim led the lineup with a 12.500, Cal moved to the floor and posted a total score of 53.500 for its first season high of the meet. Three members of the Bears' lineup – junior Khalen Curry, junior Theodor Roald Gadderud and Kim – posted massive season bests of 13.950, 13.600 and 13.300, respectively, with Curry's also acting as Cal's best score of the season.

The Bears also posted a season-best score of 53.500 on pommel horse thanks to the efforts of star graduate student Aidan Li, whose massive score of 14.600 was second only to U.S. Olympic alternate Khoi Young of Stanford. Cal's rings lineup showcased the team's best overall improvement of the night, improving its previous season best by a staggering 1.650 points behind season bests from Kim (12.950), graduate student Tomo Kawada (13.200) and sophomore Jaxon Mitchell (13.750) as well as a respectable 13.400 from Roald Gadderud. Mitchell's score was also enough to put him into the No. 1 spot for the Bears this season as he and Kim both stuck their dismounts.

After a 13.850 from redshirt junior Jasper Smith-Gordon to lead Cal on vault, the Bears ended the night on parallel bars for their final team season high (53.350). Freshman Troy Nuesca competed in the p-bars lineup for the first time this season, scoring a 13.450, before senior Tyler Shimizu and Roald Gadderud hit significant season bests of 13.900 (Shimizu) and 13.850 (Roald Gadderud) – both with stuck dismounts – to close out the competition. Both scores surpassed any recorded by a Cal gymnast this season on the event.
