The annual battle between the California men's rowing team and Washington =- the longest running rowing rivalry on the West Coast - continues Saturday at the Montlake Cut in Seattle. The annual dual – which dates back to 1903  - will feature alternating races with both programs' women's teams.

With the Golden Bears coming in atop the latest IRCA polls and the Huskies ranking No. 2, this will no doubt be a set of races the rest of the country's college rowing programs will be following.

The matchup will feature five dual races between each team's first through fourth varsity eights and freshmen eight boats. Racing begins at 10 a.m. PT and concludes with the last race at 11:45 a.m. Live results will be posted HERE and races can be viewed via a livestream on the BIG+ Network.

This marks the 113th all-time V8+ matchup between the teams with Washington winning last year's dual while Cal won the freshmen 8+ race. The Bears won the previous two dual meets in 2022 and 2023. The two school's 2V8+ and freshmen 8+ began racing in 1939.

The Schoch Cup is given to the winner of the varsity eight race and is named after Delos "Dutch" Schoch of Washington's class of 1936. Schoch was an alternate for the Huskie's Olympic boat at the 1936 Berlin games.

Cal is coming off an impressive performance at the Redwood Shores Challenge earlier this month, where it defeated crews from No. 3 Brown, No. 7 Yale and No. 9 Syracuse.
