Golden Bears Add Milos Ilic
Big Man Led Loyola Maryland In Points, Rebounds, Assists In 2024-25
BERKELEY – Milos Ilic has signed to play for the California men's basketball program in the 2025-26 season. A 6-foot-10, 245-pound center from Gornji Milanovac, Serbia, Ilic joins the Golden Bears as a graduate transfer following four years – and three seasons played (2021-22, 2023-25) – at Loyola Maryland.
Â
Ilic started 81 of 87 career games played at Loyola Maryland, where he was an All-Patriot League second team selection in 2024-25 after averaging 14.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists. He was one of just three NCAA Division I players standing 6-foot-10 or taller to lead his team in points, rebounds and assists last season.
Â
"Milos is a high-IQ player with a versatile game that will make our program better immediately," Cal head coach
Mark Madsen said. "He has soft touch and great footwork around the rim, will stretch the floor with his outside shooting and can really pass well for a big man. With three years of college basketball already under his belt, we're getting an experienced and skilled player in Milos. We can't wait to see him get to work."
Â
Ilic shot a career-best 52.4% from the floor (183 of 349) last year for the Greyhounds, including a staggering 82.2% clip on 2-pointers. The big man made 40% of his 3-point attempts (16 of 40) in Patriot League play and finished the season with a 32.3% mark. He totaled seven double-doubles in 2024-25, including a 14-point, 12-rebound, eight-assist effort at Holy Cross as well as a 28-point (career high), 11-rebound performance against VMI.
Â
Ilic averaged 5.8 PPG and 3.5 RPG as a freshman in 2021-22, making 23 started in 26 games played before his season was cut short due to injury. He missed the entire following season in 2022-23 before making a successful return to the court in 2023-24 when he averaged 7.6 PPG and 5.6 RPG while starting 27 of 30 games played.
Â
Ilic was additionally named the 2024-25 Patriot League Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He twice earned Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status and earned spots on the 2024-25 Academic All-Patriot League Team and the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Â
Ilic signed with Loyola out of the Hoosac School (Hoosick, New York) and has played on multiple age-group national teams in his native Serbia. He played with his twin brother, Veljko, at Loyola.
