WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – All three of the No. 12 California women's rowing team's boats advanced to the petite finals on Saturday at the 2025 NCAA Championships on Mercer Lake.

The three crews had qualified for the A/B semifinals after strong performances during Friday's heats, but none of them were able to register the top-3 finishes required to earn a spot in Sunday's grand finals.

The Golden Bears' varsity four came the closest to securing a grand final berth, placing fourth in its semifinal. Cal ended placing just over four seconds behind third-place Rutgers.

Both of the Bears' varsity eight boats placed fifth in the semis. Cal's 2V8 stayed within striking distance of third-place Virginia throughout the race along with Tennessee, but ended up finishing about 2.5 seconds behind the Cavaliers and just over a second back of the fourth-place Vols.

The Bears commence the final day of racing Sunday with the V4 petite final at 6:24 a.m. PT. The second varsity eight is scheduled to race at 6:48 a.m. PT and the varsity eight wraps things up at 7:12 a.m. PT.
