Bears Showcase Defensive Excellence In Second Half
STOCKTON – The No. 3 California men's water polo team (5-0) defeated No. 9 Pacific (6-2), 17-9, Friday night at Chris Kjeldsen Pool at the Douglass M. Eberhardt Aquatics Center in Stockton, California.
The Golden Bears clinched their first win against a ranked opponent this season behind an explosive performance from freshman
Tomas Perrone, who led the Bears with a career-high six goals.
After an even score (8-8) at the halfway mark, Cal used a dominating second half to pull away en route to holding Pacific to only one goal during that span.

Cal will host No. 11 UC Davis on Saturday for its home opener at Spieker Aquatics Complex at 1 p.m. PT. Coverage will be available on Overnght.
