California junior Justin Pretre was named the ACC Cross Country Performer of the Week, the first cross country runner to earn this award since Cal became a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. 

After winning his second consecutive race this season, Pretre led the Golden Bears to a second-place overall finish at the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational last Saturday. He also ran a personal-best time of 23:14.3. 

In the season-opening USF Invitational on Aug. 29, Pretre became the second consecutive Bear to win the men's title.
