Former Senior Manager Of Business Development Returns To Berkeley In New Role

BERKELEY – Learfield, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Cal Athletics, announced Tuesday that Bryan Meadows has been appointed General Manager of its locally based team - Cal Bears Sports Properties.

In his return to Cal Bears Sports Properties, where he previously spent three years as Senior Manager of Business Development, Meadows will serve as the primary Learfield liaison related to the university's comprehensive athletics multimedia rights agreement and corporate partner platform, in addition to overseeing the local Cal Bears Sports Properties team. He will work closely with Cal Co-Directors of Athletics Jay Larson and Jenny Simon-O'Neill and the entire department administration on all aspects of the relationship between Learfield and Cal Athletics.

"We are excited to welcome Bryan back to the Cal Family," Simon-O'Neill and Larson said. "Bryan's experience, both in and out of intercollegiate athletics, will be a huge asset to our partnership as we position ourselves to succeed in this dynamic new era."

An 11-year veteran in business development and partnership management, Meadows returns to Learfield after a stint as the lead digital sports representative in the Pacific Northwest for NBCUniversal.

His Learfield journey began in 2019, when he first joined the Cal Bears Sports Properties team and was named the West Region Rookie of the Year for the 2019-20 fiscal year. Meadows moved to Oregon State in 2022, gaining three additional years of experience in the Learfield ranks as the Director of Business Development at Beaver Sports Properties, leading a sales team that was awarded Property of the Year in the 2023-24 fiscal year.

"We're thrilled to welcome Bryan back to the Learfield family as our next General Manager at Cal Bears Sports Properties," said Joe Baldini, Senior Vice President of Sports Properties at Learfield. "He has an incredible mixture of experiences both inside and outside of Learfield, and we can't wait to see the success he brings in his second stint in Berkeley."

Prior to his time with Learfield, Meadows spent a year as the President of the Agua Caliente Clippers - the NBA G-League affiliate of the Los Angeles Clippers - where he served as the chief executive and primary liaison between the G-League, LA Clippers management, corporate partners and the Clippers community. He broke into the sports industry full-time with the minor league baseball Stockton Ports in 2011, where he worked his way up from Stadium Operations Manager to General Manager over the course of seven years.

"I'm thrilled to be returning to Learfield and beyond proud to serve as the General Manager of Cal Bears Sports Properties, where my journey with the company began," Meadows said. "I look forward to working together with Jay, Jenny, and everyone at Cal Athletics and Cal Bears Sports Properties to elevate our connection between the Bears, Cal fans and alumni, and our terrific local, regional and national brand partners."

Meadows is a 2010 graduate of Oklahoma State University and played baseball at Cisco (TX) Community College, where he was named an Academic All-American.
