Bears In Second Place After Two Rounds At The Molly
Freshman Michelle Woo Tied For Third Individually At 2-Under Par
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Freshman
Michelle Woo had the best round of her young career and the California women's golf team is in second place after the first two rounds of the Molly Collegiate Invitational at Trysting Tree Golf Course.
After carding an even-par 72 in Monday morning's first round, Woo registered five birdies in the second round and finished at 2-under par heading into Tuesday's final day of the tournament. Woo is tied for third place individually, just three shots behind leader Darae Chung of Oregon.
Junior
Jasmine Kahler, a transfer from Purdue who has the lowest 18-hole score so far this season for the Golden Bears and won her match at The Big Match against Stanford last week, shot a 1-under par 71 in the first round before settling in at 3-over par heading into Tuesday. She is in a tie for 11
th place overall with four other golfers.
Cal stands at 12-over par as a team for the tournament, four shots behind leader Oregon State with 18 holes to play. The Bears won the Molly Collegiate Invitational in 2023 when it was held at Bayonet & Black Horse in Seaside.
The Bears tee off Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. PT.
