PALOS VERDES - The California Women's golf team opens their 2026 spring season at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif. on Sunday.

The Golden Bears are one of 16 teams competing in the par 71, 6,116 yard course at Palos Verdes Golf Club. Competition begins Sunday, with each team playing 18 holes a day, and the tournament concluding on Tuesday.

The Bears return after a busy fall which saw them record three top-5 team finishes at the Molly Invitational, St. Andrews Links Collegiate and the Nanea Invitational. Junior Constance Fouillet shot a women's course record nine-under par 63 at the Old Course in St. Andrews, helping the Bears to a 4.5-1.5 victory in match play over Princeton to secure the tournament title.

Last time out, the Bears placed fifth out of 11 teams at the Nanea Invitational. They finished the tournament at three under par, their first time shooting under par in consecutive tournaments since 2023. Freshman Michelle Woo led the Bears, shooting an even par 272, finishing in 26th place, while three other Bears finished in the top 35.

The Bears last played at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge last season, finishing in eighth place. 2026 returner Adora Liu led the way shooting a 6-over par 219.

The Bears will tee off at 10:12 a.m. Sunday, and live scoring can be found here.
