Joshua Thai, Geoffrey Vavitsas To Compete In Atlanta Later This Month

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - California junior Geoffrey Vavistsas and senior Josh Thai each punched tickets to the 2026 NCAA Championships on Wednesday. Thai placed fourth in the 1-meter dive and ninth in the 3-meter event  while Vavitsas was fourth in the platform dive at the NCAA Zone E Championships at Northern Arizona University.

The top 9 on the 1-meter springboard, top 8 on the 3-meter springboard, and top 6 for the platform dive earn berths at the NCAA Championships.

It will mark the third consecutive NCAA Championships appearance for each diver.  Last year, Thai finished 16th in the 3-meter dive and Vavitsas 24th in the 3-meter.

The 2026 NCAA men's swimming & diving championships are scheduled for March 25-28 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
