No. 5 Cal Earns All-American Accolades In All 3 Events On Day 1
Ryan Erisman Secures All-American Honors In The 1650 Free And 800 Free Relay
ATLANTA – The No. 5 California men's swimming and diving team wrapped up day one of the NCAA Championships with 10 All-America honors.
Ryan Erisman and Nathan Wiffen each earned Second Team All-America honors in the 1650 freestyle. Erisman placed 10th with a time of 13:41.58, while Wiffen finished 15th in 14:46.81.
Cal's 200 medley relay team claimed First Team All-America honors with a sixth-place finish. Evan Petty, Yamato Okadome, Lucca Battaglini and Martin Wrede posted a time of 1:21.58.
The Bears' 800 freestyle relay team added to the tally with a 12th-place finish in 6:10.91. Keaton Jones, Erisman, Nans Mazellier and Eduardo Moraes earned Second Team All-America recognition.
The NCAA Championships continue Thursday with day two of competition, featuring the 100 butterfly, 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 freestyle relay and 1-meter diving. Prelims begin at 7 a.m. PT, with finals set for 3 p.m. PT on ESPN+.
