Cal Jumps Into Top Five After Day Two

Yamato Okadome Wins 100 Breaststroke National Title

ATLANTA – The California men's swimming and diving team wrapped up day two of the NCAA Championships in fifth place overall.

Yamato Okadome captured the national title in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching first in 49.90 – the second-fastest time in program history.

In the prelims of the 100 breaststroke, Hank Rivers earned Second Team All-American honors with a 10th-place finish in 51.19.

Freshman Ryan Erisman collected First Team All-American recognition in the 400 IM, placing fifth in 3:36.32. His mark ranks fifth in program history.

Keaton Jones also earned First Team All-American honors in the 200 freestyle, finishing fifth in 1:31.08, the fourth-fastest time in program history.

Cal's 200 free relay team closed out the night with a time of 1:14.63 to earn First Team All-American honors. The mark stands as the seventh-fastest in program history.

The NCAA Championships continue Friday with day three of competition, featuring the 100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke, 500 freestyle, 50 freestyle, 400 medley relay and 3-meter diving. Prelims begin at 7 a.m. PT, with finals set for 3 p.m. PT on ESPN+.
