Cal enters the weekend with an unblemished record in 2026, having swept its races in the first four events of the season. Most recently, the Bears notched wins over No. 15 Wisconsin, No. 19 Temple, No. 21 Oregon State, No. 24 UC San Diego and No. 25 Santa Clara at the California Classic hosted on Cal's home course last weekend. The Bears' varsity eight posted the top time of 5:34.4 to defeat the Badgers' top entry. The V8+ nearly matched its previous time against Temple's V8+, finishing in 5:34.7 in the afternoon session, capping an impressive outing that earned MPSF Varsity Eight of the Week honors.
