PANAMA CITY, Fla. - California men's golf sophomore Ziqin Zhou shot a 2-under par 70 in the final round of the ACC Championship Saturday, tying for his first career title with a three-day total of 8-under-par 208. Zhou then won a two-hole playoff against Stanford's Edan Cui and Duke's Ethan Evans to win Cal's first individual ACC title. Zhou is the first Cal golfer to win an individual conference title since Collin Morikawa won the 2019 Pac 12 Championship.

"Being the first player to win the ACC Championship for the Bears is an absolute honor," Zhou said. "It really shows the work the team and I have put in recently. Every second of hard work is worth it."

Redshirt junior Charlie Bundy finished with a 3-day total of 5-over-par 221, finishing in a tie for 36th place and freshman Trevor Cox shot a 6-over-par 222, finishing in a tie for 41st place. Senior Daniel Heo shot a 1-over-par 73 in the final round, finishing with a three day total of 6-over-par 222, tying with Cox for 41st place.

The Bears shot a 4-over-par 292 in the final round, finishing in 12th place with a 9-over-par 873.

"Ziqin becomes just the fourth player in Cal Men's golf history to win an individual Conference Championship and the first in the ACC," Cal head coach Michael Wilson said. "He's worked so hard these past two years and pulled out a really gritty win today. He started two-over through two holes, but battled back for a two-under-70 to force a three man playoff. His birdie on the first playoff hole will go down as a legendary putt in Cal Golf to push the match. He then made a solid par on the second playoff hole to win. We're all so incredibly happy for Ziqin!"
