BERKELEY – It was a full day of memories made Saturday, as the No. 9 California beach volleyball team celebrated its accomplished senior class while also recording a pair of victories in the last matches ever played at the Clark Kerr Sand Courts.

The Golden Bears (18-7) defeated San Jose State and UC Davis – both by scores of 5-0 – to close out their home season. Cal is moving into the Banatao Family Beach Volleyball Stadium on the southwest corner of campus next season.

Six of the Bears' eight seniors were in the lineup for both duals, as Cal dropped just two sets over the 10 matches. The Bears' No. 4 pair of seniors Mila Vugrincic and Jenna Colligan registered two straight-set victories as did the No. 1 pair of senior Portia Sherman and junior Emma Donley. Sherman now has 77 career victories, which is sixth on Cal's all-time list. She and Donley already hold the program's career wins record for a single pair, as their total is now up to 50.

Along with Sherman, Vugrincic and Colligan, fellow seniors Marilu Pally, Gia Fisher, Mila Yarich, Finley Rollins and Madison Oriskovich were honored in a memorable ceremony following the duals.

The Bears, who played their first dual at the Clark Kerr Sand Courts on March 14, 2014, against San Jose State, went 60-10 all-time at the venue – including a 31-dual winning streak between 2017 and 2024.

Cal returns to the road next week for the Center of Effort Challenge at Cal Poly, where the Bears will take on No. 2 UCLA, 6 Cal Poly and No. 12 Arizona State before advancing to bracket play.
