Bears Drop Contest To Deacs
Cal Tallied Points On Courts 1, 4
BERKELEY — In its second top-25 matchup of the weekend, the California Golden Bears men's tennis team (14-11, 6-6) fell to No. 3 Wake Forest (26-3, 11-1) 4-2 on Sunday.
To begin the day, the Bears saw three close contests on each doubles court but ultimately surrendered points on Courts 1Â and 3Â to concede the doubles point.
In singles action, Cal gave up points on Courts 5Â and 6Â before Fryderyk Lechno-Wasiutynski gave the Bears their first point of the day. Then, on Court 4, Bernardo Munk Mesa inched Cal back to within one point of Wake Forest with a straight-set victory before the Bears gave up the decisive fourth point on Court 2.
