Cal Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule
Bears Set For Third Season In ACC
BERKELEY - California's cross country team has announced its 2026 schedule, featuring six meets this fall in its third season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Golden Bears will open the season on Sept. 4 at the USF Invitational, a meet in which Cal has participated for more than two decades. The Bears opened last season with a strong performance, highlighted by rising senior Justin Pretre's victory in the men's race. His win marked the second consecutive year a Cal athlete had captured the USF Invitational title. The women also placed third overall, with seven Bears finishing in the top 40. Rising senior Addie Johnson finished fourth, while rising senior Sophie Tau took seventh.
Cal will remain close to home, competing at the Saint Mary's Invitational on Sept. 18 at Newhall Community Park in Concord, Calif.
On Oct. 9, Cal will travel to Eugene, Oreg. for the Bill Dellinger Invitational. At last year's event, five Golden Bears registered personal records or season-best times, with six finishing in the top 40. Those performances led the women's team to a fifth-place finish, while the men finished seventh.
Cal will then return to the Bay Area to cap the regular season on Oct. 17 at the Bronco Invitational at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, Calif.
In their third appearance at the ACC Championships, the Bears will travel to Blacksburg, Va., on Oct. 30. Cal will then compete at the NCAA West Regionals in Sacramento on Nov. 13, in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 21 to complete the 2026 campaign.
