Biography

Fall 2021: Tied for the team lead in goals with three…his first goal for the Bears wound up as the gamewinner of a wild, 4-3 victory over UNLV on Sept. 5 at Edwards Stadium…in the 84th minute, the Japan native outraced the Rebels to a long ball and fired a shot that caromed off the goalpost and into the net…Honda scored again on Sept. 19 at UCLA, in the 43rd minute, but the Bruins won, 2-1…he netted his third goal in the 76th minute of a 3-3, double-overtime tie at Santa Clara on Oct. 16.

Personal/Previous: Undeclared major...led his Teikyo Nagaoka High School team to third place in the 2020 All-Japan High School Soccer Tournament and to fourth place overall in the JFA U-18 Takamadonomiya Cup (Prince League Hokoshinetsu) in 2019...in the summer of 2020, Honda trained with Dutch clubs Feyenoord Rotterdam and FC Groningen.
