Spring 2016: Earned the Golden Bear Award for posting the team’s top GPA for the season…in her only dual-match action of the season, Hoang defeated Isabelle Hoorn, 6-4, 6-2, at court-six singles in a 7-0 rout of San Diego State and paired with Maria Smith to beat Alexandra Aiello and Brigitte Beck, 6-2, at No. 3 doubles in a 7-0 blowout of Colorado…also beat Fresno State’s Olivia Noble, 6-1, 6-2, and FSU’s Sofya Malysheva, 6-3, 6-3, in singles in the Cal Winter Invitational…finished the season with overall records of 14-7 in singles and 7-8 in doubles.
Fall 2015: Captured the gold-flight doubles title at the Cal Nike Fall Invitational, pairing with Olivia Hauger to defeat San Jose State’s Marine Dans and Sybille Gauvain, 8-4, in the final…won four times to advance to the gold-flight singles final at the Cal Nike Fall Invitational, falling to UC Santa Barbara’s Jaimee Gilbertson, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4, in the championship…advanced to the singles round of 16 in the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships…also in singles, reached the quarterfinals of the Battle in the Bay Classic, the round of 16 in the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational and the round of 16 in the ASU Thunderbird Invitational.
Spring 2015: Claimed ITA Scholar-Athlete honors after posting a 3.91 grade-point average in her freshman season...fell in the Pac-12 doubles invitational round of 16 with Cecilia Estlander, after an 8-7(4) loss to Stanford’s Lindsey Kostas and Nora Tan…Hoang’s first dual-match & Pac-12 singles win was a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Oregon’s Paloma Gomez on April 4 in Berkeley…Hoang’s first dual-match & Pac-12 doubles win also came against the Ducks, as Hoang and Karla Popovic beat Lina Åkesson/Sofia Hager, 8-2…the Aussie’s season and career records are 10-9 in singles and 12-10 in doubles.
Fall 2014: Won in her singles collegiate debut, beating Santa Clara’s Zeina El Tawil, 6-3, 6-4, in the 2014 Cal Nike Fall Invitational…teamed with Cecilia Estlander to reach the doubles round of 32 in the 2014 USTA/ITA Northwest Reginoal Championships.
