2019: Earned NCAA Indoor Second-Team All-American Honors…MPSF Indoor Champion in the Heptathlon with a mark of 5553… That mark earned him the 16th spot on the NCAA descending order list and booked Brendel a spot at the NCAA Indoor Championships… Finished 14th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the heptathlon… MPSF All-Academic Team… Pac-12 All-Academic First Team.

2018: Did not compete due to injury... Pac-12 All-Academic First Team. 

2017: Claimed third in the decathlon at the 2017 Pac-12 Championship with a personal best of 7413 ... Finished second at the Mt. SAC Relays with a score of 7347 ... Placed second in the Big Meet in both the 110m Hurdles and the 4x100m relay ... Recorded a fourth place finish at the Brutus Hamilton Challenge with a 14.63 second time in the 110m hurdles ... Notched a third place finish at the MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championship with a personal best of heptathlon score of 5674. 

2016: Won the decathlon at the Sacramento State Hornet Invite (7,022) ... finished ninth in the event at the Pac-12 Championships (6932) … captured the heptathlon title at the 2016 MPSF Indoor Championships (5158).

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Granite Bay HS...won California state meet in the 300 hurdles after overcoming injury and starting season late.

PERSONAL: Graduated with a degree in business administration... Parents are Jerry and Julie... His brother Trent competed on the Cal track team and graduated from UC Berkeley in December 2017.
