Biography
2022: Competed in three outdoor meets… threw the javelin a personal-best 40.91m (134-3), good for second place, at the Big Meet… posted a second-place javelin throw of 39.39m (129-3) at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational… Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2021: Competed in three outdoor meets… at the Big Meet, posted a heave of 32.91m (108-0) in the javelin throw… threw the javelin 33.39m (109-6) at the Cal-USC Dual… made the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll.
2020: Appeared in one outdoor meet for Cal… reached a distance of 31.67m (103-11) in the javelin throw at the Cal Opener.
2019: Competed in six outdoor meets for the Bears… threw the javelin 35.59m (116-9) at the Cardinal Classic… at the Hornet Invitational, posted a personal-best javelin throw of 37.83m (124-1)… reached a top javelin throw of 35.70m at the Cal Opener.
HIGH SCHOOL: Helped Mission Viejo High School track & field to four straight South Coast League (SCL) Championships… competed in the javelin throw at the 2018 USA Track & Field (USATF) Region 15 Junior Olympic Championships after finishing second in the event at the USATF Southern California Association Junior Olympic Championships… took second in the long jump and third in the triple jump at the 2018 South Coast League Finals… was named as one of the top 40 javelin throwers in the nation by New Balance Nationals in 2017… that year, she reached the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships following her javelin victory in the USATF Region 15 Junior Olympics… competed in the 2016 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in the javelin throw after placing fourth in the Region 15 Junior Olympics… 2016 SCL Triple Jump Runner-Up… won Mission Viejo’s Spirit of the Diablo award… was a member of the Orange County Heat Club… an avid musician, she performed at Carnegie Hall in 2017.
PERSONAL: Majoring in psychology… intends to attend medical school and become an OBGYN… daughter of Alexandra and Craig Macias… mother swam for UC San Diego… father rowed for San Diego State University… brother Christian played water polo at the Naval Academy and at UC Irvine.
