AS A JUNIOR (2018):
- Enjoyed a breakout junior campaign in 2018, establishing himself as one of the top pitchers in the Pac-12 and earning All-Pac-12 honorable mention.
- Chosen by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (No. 114 overall) of the 2018 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
- Started the season in the bullpen but spent the majority of the year as Cal's Sunday starter. Made 17 appearances (12 starts) and went 5-3 with a 2.77 ERA. Also recorded two saves and struck out 74 hitters with only 14 walks in 91 innings pitched.
- Only Cal pitcher to record a complete game in 2018 went the distance three times.
- Made his first four appearances out of the bullpen and allowed just one run over 10 innings pitched. Struck out six and earned a four-inning save in Cal's 8-2 win over eventual NCAA tournament team Baylor at the Frisco Classic.
- Recorded a quality start (6 IP, 3 ER or fewer) in 10 of 12 starts.
- First complete game came at the end of a 20-inning day of baseball against Utah as he struck out nine and allowed just one run in Cal's 5-1 win over the Utes on April 7.
- Worked another complete game on May 6 at USC, allowing just two runs in a 6-2 Bears victory.
- Final outing as a Golden Bear may have been his most impressive as he struck out five and scattered six hits in a complete game shutout at Arizona State. Walked only one in the win.
- Finished his Cal career with a 7-4 record and 2.94 ERA. Appeared in 43 games and pitched 128.2 innings with 102 strikeouts to only 33 walks.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2017):
- Appeared in 14 games and finished with the team's best ERA, 1.99, among pitchers with 10 or more appearances.
- Ended the season on a tremendous note, allowing just one earned run over his final seven appearances and 10 innings pitched.
- Earned his first win of the year on the final day of the season with four shutout innings of relief at No. 15 Arizona.
- Was impressive in relief against No. 1 Oregon State, working 3.1 innings and allowing just two runs in Corvallis on May 5.
- Had a fantastic series against No. 10 Stanford, appearing in all three games and pitching 3.1 innings without allowing a runner.
- Continued that strong stretch against No. 7 TCU, pitching twice in the series and working 2.1 hitless innings with three strikeouts and one walk.
- Struck out 16 and walked only eight while holding opponents to a .235 batting average.
AS A FRESHMAN (2016):
- Appeared in 12 games for the Bears, making two starts on the mound
- Finished the season with a 5.40 ERA in 15.0 IP
- Recorded 12 strikeouts in his first season in a Bears uniform
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
- Attended Vintage HS in Napa, Calif. where he was All-League in both 2014 and 2015 and was also a Pitcher of the Year finalist (2015) and Player of the Year finalist (2014)
- Had a career 1.80 ERA with a school record 215 strikeouts, holding opposing hitters to a .236 average in high school
