Biography

AS A SENIOR (2018):
  • Finished his Cal career with another strong year out of the bullpen, compiling a 3-1 record and 3.54 ERA in 17 appearances.
  • Pitched 28 innings and struck out 24 hitters with 13 walks.
  • Earned his first win of the year with 3.1 scoreless innings against Brown on March 9. Allowed just four hits, struck out three and didn't walk anyone.
  • Picked up the win two days later against Brown and earned his third win on April 20 against eventual College World Series entrant Washington.
  • Final appearance as a Golden Bear came May 18 at Creighton when he worked a scoreless inning at TD Ameritrade Park.
AS A JUNIOR (2017):
  • Emerged as one of the go-to options out of the Cal bullpen and ranked third on the team with 20 appearances, all in relief.
  • Finished the year with a 1-1 record and 5.90 ERA in 29 innings pitched.
  • Struck out 31 and walked 20 while holding opposing hitters to a .250 average.
  • Made his Cal debut on Feb. 19 against Cal Poly and struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings.
  • Last outing of the season was a strong one as he tossed 2.1 scoreless innings of relief at No. 1 Oregon State on May 7.
  • First collegiate win came on April 1 when he recorded two outs against Washington State.
HIGH SCHOOL/PREVIOUS SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
  • Native of San Jose, Calif. comes to Cal by way of Mission College and Sobrato High School.
  • Played for two seasons at Mission and was a first team All-Conference selection both years. In 2016, compiled a 3.33 ERA with a team-high 67 strikeouts in 73 innings pitched. In 2015, tossed 50.2 innings and compiled a 4.09 ERA with 40 strikeouts.
  • While at Mission, threw a one-hit shutout against rival West Valley and helped Mission win a conference title in 2016.
  • Missed his senior year at Sobrato due to injury.
  • Was a member of the Sobrato honor roll for both semesters of his senior year.
  • Counts fishing as a hobby.
  • American Studies major would like to work in finance or business if not professional baseball.
